Le Monde de Tardi

Exhibition newspaper

Cartoonmuseum Basel presents Jacques Tardi, born in 1946 in Valence (FR) and one of the world’s most influential comics artists, in a retrospective. The exhibition newspaper presents the six main topics of the exhibition.Tardi has created the headstrong adventurer Adèle Blanc-Sec, adapted Léo Malet’s crime novels about private detective Nestor Burma as comics, and reminded us of the ravages of the two World Wars in several magnificent albums. This wide-ranging exhibition also includes over 200 original drawings, as well as lesser-known works, such as Tardi’s political drawings and posters. One of the highlights is a selection of unpublished original pages from the third volume of his current series about his father in the Second World War, which will soon be released.
