Art meets human rights

Sunday, 8.9.2019

Russian artist Victoria Lomasko sheds light on social injustices and suppression in her home country: With her tragicomic drawings, she thematises limited freedom of speech, the challenges faced by LGBTI* people, gender-based violence and women’s rights. Rhea Rieben, Russia expert at Amnesty Switzerland, provides background information on the issues raised and relates what she has experienced personally on her numerous stays in Russia. In addition, curator Anette Gehrig presents the artist’s work.
