Chris Ware considers the language of comics to have great potential, which should be explored and developed. His comics not only reflect the image-heavy nature of what we perceive on a daily basis, but also visualise inner impressions and the unsaid at the same time. We experience his characters’ turmoil and conflicts in correspondingly multifaceted and nuanced ways. In this artist talk, Chris Ware and comics expert Christian Gasser discuss the contemporary comic’s possibilities and perspectives.
