The current exhibition at Cartoonmuseum Basel is dedicated to the USA’s best-known queer comics artist: Alison Bechdel (b. 1960) began her career with traditional analogue drawings, but today she works with digital media. This artist, known for her subtle and accurate depiction of facial expressions and body language, changed her drawing technique without her readers noticing.

In cooperation with DQ Solutions, Cartoonmuseum Basel invites the public to the exhibition ‘Alison Bechdel: The Essential’. Curator Anette Gehrig will guide visitors through the multi-award-winning work of the author who brought us the bestseller ‘Fun Home’. In this workshop, illustrator Malin Widèn will help participants take their first steps with modern drawing tools. (The software used is called Procreate. No prior knowledge is required. The skills gained will be transferable to other software programs.)
