Jazz and tango run through José Muñoz’s oeuvre as a common thread. Music has had a decisive influence on his free, expressive painting style and inspired his comic biographies of Billie Holiday and Carlos Gardel. On a tour of the exhibition, we linger in front of selected works by José Muñoz and let them enter into a special dialogue with music: Basel-based accordion virtuoso Heidi Gürtler and a dance performance by Stephanie Greub und Aaron Daniel take you on a musical journey to South America and the influences behind Muñoz’s work. Draw and paint, accompanied by live music and inspired by the master.
