Guided tours through the current exhibition

What will be tomorrow? The French illustrator Blutch was born Christian Hincker in Strasbourg in 1967. He has opened many doors into the unknown for comics and is now one of the most important illustrators of the new French comic. Drawing is at the center of his thematically and formally diverse work, but he is also a subtle painter. His often experimental albums invite us to freely associate blank spaces. Blutch has worked for numerous publishing houses, illustrated books and newspapers and designed posters. In 2009, he won the Grand Prix de la Ville d'Angoulême, the most important European comic award. The retrospective at the Cartoonmuseum Basel brings together works from all phases of his career and originals from his latest album 'La mer à boire'.
