With the exhibition “Anna Sommer & Noyau” the Cartoonmuseum Basel is presenting these two internationally renowned Swiss cartoonists for the first time in a joint larger-scale show. Anna Sommer (*1968) and Noyau (*1963) are veritable experts in different techniques, such as ink drawing, painting, paper cuts and etching, and create a Panopticon of contemporary draughtsmanship, ranging from political caricature to illustration to autobiographical comic to fine art. The two artists innovatively blur the borders between genres and, with great inventiveness and freedom, combine the humorous and the serious, the personal and the social in their works.
