In Ukraine, there has been a marked upturn in the production of comics since 2022: These combine the search for artistic expression in an extreme situation with journalistic documentary concerns and often serve as a platform for societal self-understanding, as well as for communication beyond the country’s borders.

This exhibition, organised in cooperation with the University of Basel, Atelier Mondial and the FHNW Academy of Art and Design, is accompanied by artist talks and workshops.
