In July, Cartoonmuseum Basel will become a playing field for art, exercise and equality: To mark the European Women’s Championship in football, the Swiss collector’s album Tschutti Heftli is coming to Basel!

Already before the tournament, in a transformation that will take place from the 23nd to the 30th of June 2025, large-scale adhesive window film will turn the museum’s exterior into an oversized Panini album. In the museum’s library, visitors can gain insight into the work of the international illustrators who have portrayed football players from all over Europe for the latest Tschutti Heftli album. Ranging from knitting yarn to pencil, and right through to digital illustration, the diverse artistic styles set the tone for visibility and diversity in sport. An archive box of previous Tschutti Heftli albums invites visitors to explore the project’s history. The museum shop also has posters and postcards with portraits and strong messages about equality in sport: ideal for collecting, for swapping, or as gifts.

At a talk entitled ‘Kick it’, the photographer and designer Laura Rivas (who was on the jury that chose artists for the album) and curator Anette Gehrig will present a dialogue between sport and art.
