'Blood'
Science meets art! Workshops for bright minds
Blood, the vital fluid, is a topic in science and art alike. The scientist and communications expert Dr Kerstin Beyer-Hans from the Swiss Nanoscience Institute opens the workshop by providing input on the bloodstream. After that, the art mediator and illustrator Malin Widén presents the artwork of Thomas Ott, who scratches his wordless, gloomy and often bloody stories out of scratchboard. Kerstin Beyer-Hans and Malin Widén then look for similarities and differences between disciplines, and invite creative participation. Finally, once everyone has been scientifically informed and artistically inspired, all those taking part can set to work, drawing and experimenting.
These themed workshops, realised in cooperation with the IBSA Foundation for Scientific Research, are geared towards school classes, limited to a few dates and free of charge.
